My New Assignment (June 22, 2015)

This week has been good.

Thanks so much for all the packages I have gotten! If any one of you have noticed my birthday will be on June 30th!  My wish is that all of you would buy me stuff! ;)  No, but really I would love a leather man... A real leather man. Thanks!

So this week we did a lot of service.  We helped move a family and while doing so I learned how bishops and wards are like in Miami. See, this man had served as a bishop and while doing so he would have role plays
of things that might happen.  Like, for example, if a crazy man came in with a gun trying to kill people.  They knew exactly where they would go to shoot the guy.  He said he told everyone to have a hand gun on them at
church?  Anyways, pretty hilarious!

We also got to help with a people called Montignards. They got pushed out of their country and now live here so we helped move bush and they were nice.  It was so hot... I was sweating like a pro basketball player!  #hot😘

We had an investigator who is 91 and is kicking strong! Here's a photo of him! Love him!

This week Elder Blackett is getting transferred :(.  Pretty sad stuff.  I'm glad I got to learn from him! He will do great work!

I also got called to be a District Leader!! Yay!! I'm excited, but very worried!!

I also found the Garden of Eden! (See picture below)

Well, I love you all!!  I hope I can continue to be diligent in His work!

Thanks for all you do 🙏🚳 love you all!

The Sun Be Shining (June 15, 2015)

This week has been pretty fun!

Thanks so much for all you do and all the stuff you send my way!

Here's the thin... I love my family!

So, on Tuesday, we had a exchange with the Kernervilles elders and Elder Sherman came to our area.  He actually came out with me so it was fun to spend some time together and learn from each other (he is from Utah...go figure)

Then, the Zone Leaders wanted to do exchanges on Thursday so we did.  Elder Drake came to our area with me. He is from Texas and just FYI... everything is not bigger in Texas, I asked.  He is a really good missionary!  I loved his attitude for how much he wanted to baptize!

Our investigator Lisa moved back into our area! Yay!! We are pumped! Love it!

Not to much other to report back on! I love you all.

My family and friends (June 8, 2015)

Thank you all for the love. ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️

Here's the update.  So we helped move one of our investigators out of our area this last week.  Bitter sweet. That was Princess. She will be in good hands though.

Here's a fun miracle... we received a referral from Salt Lake and this man has friends from Salt Lake and is pumped to find truth.  We met him and had a great first meeting.

Some more sad news here in Colfax... Our investigator Lisa was progressing and doing so well.  We were excited to see her on Sunday and we received a voicemail from her on Saturday night saying she had
moved back to Virginia:(...  so that happened!

On other news, we were able to get a less active athirst make it to church this last week it was amazing! He loved it and is hoping to make it again!! And so are we!!!!!

Well my brother John goes home this week!!  Super stoked for him!  Gonna ask president if I can come home for a couple days to welcome him home.  #jk but still if you see him give him some loving from his elder brother!!

Last pday we got to go ice skating. It was a blast! I will share some photos.  Possibly getting back on fb this month we will see!

Love you all so much!  Grateful for all you all do for me to keep me kicking and staying alive!!

You meet people for a reason, a season or a lifetime! (June 1, 2015)

Thank you all so much for the letters and the love this week!

Elder Blackett says hi!

This week has been such a struggle.  We have had some downs and some ups!

First off, I would like to share my love for our apostle Elder Perry!  He was such a funny and uplifting speaker.  I wish I could have sat down and talked with him!

We had Zone Conference this week and the highlight was on finding! Yay!!  I love finding! President Craven also gave some kind of goodbye speech.  It was really sad.  I have come to love that man.  He's also hilarious and a divine servant of God!

Elder Hettenger and I went on a exchange! Yay! FYI he is a Spanish Elder and all the Spanish elders make fun of his name and call him Hitler.  It's way funny!

One of our investigators, Theodora aka princes, was progressing so well and moving towards baptism and then we find out she's moving a block down the road right out of our area so we will pass her off to some other missionary's!

Lisa was progressing so well.  She finished 1 Nephi and was breaking into 2 nephi and she told us she is moving back to Virginia.  Awful news for two hungry missionary's, but she will be in good hands!

We had a classic concert at the church this last week it was really pretty.  I love classical music.

I'm doing good, having a blast and excited for the next step!

Thanks again for all that you all do for me!  I'm very grateful!

Love you all!!!

The Hustle! (May 26, 2015)

Thank you all for the letters and packages they have been great! I love them very much!

This week is pretty much another week!

So this Sunday we had 3 investigators at church.  It was fun but kinda frustrating...... Don't judge! Here's why: we had one who was really our own.  She was great and then you have this one guy who shows up pretty much every week and and talks about the Mormon women and how great they are.  All the girls there got harassed from him with hugs and hand shakes it's gone to far!! But we love him!

Another man that works at Wal Mart (he's the greeter) we saw him and he told us he was coming to church this Sunday. I had zero faith and didn't think he would show but without fail he did!  He was great but has a little bit of autism and my patience was tested... Let's just say I'm now studying patience a lot more... Here's why it's hard... neither of these men live in our area so we cannot teach them and are not sure if they progressing.  It's hard okay!! Life is hard!!! Just kidding!  That's all I have to worry about I'm pretty good!! Hahaha I love it!

We had mission conference this last Friday and it was great!  President Craven threw down cause he's leaving  soon and wants the mission to be in line so we talked about what's going stray in the mission!  My favorite comment comes from Elder Carter! Let me first give some back ground in the meeting.  He's wearing the old person sun glasses that go over you're normal glasses! In the meeting!!!!!   He's brought this up the last couple meetings! In the white hand book it talks about sister missionary's not wearing tight clothing so he stands up and says "well sister missionary's are wearing tight yoga pants! So Sister Craven stands up and let's him know that both elders and sisters need to watch how tight their clothing gets!!  It was great! I love mission conference!!! He then had a Q and A and I learned a lot!!

Self defense!! So this man some elders are teaching said he would teach us some ninja moves.  He runs his own place here in this area! It was a blast! Pretty much learned "wax on wax off" kind of a lesson but I can't wait to get in a fight now!!👊💪 ! Hahah He called it LDSD latter day self defense!

Yesterday for Memorial Day we went to a less active members house and played bocce and cooked out!  It was fun!

Awkward story of the week!! We showed up at a less actives house and they had two men over.  It was kinda awkward from the get.  We tried to start a little convo and it wasn't happening so we asked if we could share a quick message and they said yes!! Let me take a step back now... these two man work for Vivent and one was from Utah (probably a member that hates the church)! Back to the story! He stands up and says "we have to leave" and walks out.  The less active members were asking why and asking you're not gonna stay for dinner and they just bounced.  It was so awkward.  So here we are with this awful feeling with only me  and Elder Blackett and two woman so now we're breaking rules, but it was whateves.  We shared a message and had a great discussion and they said this is what they needed! It was uplifting to know I'm a represent of Jesus Christ and to watch this man know he was doing things he shouldn't be doing and run out! I feel happy🌺

I love you all so much!!  Keep the faith... it will pay off!!!!
